“Vampires” — October 29, 2011
Happy Halloween! During last year’s broadcast from Colorado Springs, Tim Russell and Fred Newman played vampires unaffected by garlic and stakes but repelled by a chilling ancient incantation. What’s their hidden weakness? Find out above.
Celebrate the Fourth of July with a fireworks display by the Famous Newmans. Ask for the “Exploding Lunatic Rocket,” the “Venus Flytrap,” or the “Delayed Rocket.”
It’s mighty sunny here in Eugene! The sound effects gear waits for Mr. Fred Newman and tomorrow’s early-afternoon broadcast from the Cuthbert Ampitheater.
We can officially confirm that this made Fred’s day.
Last weekend’s jam-packed visit to The Town Hall — with Renée Fleming, Punch Brothers, Aoife O’Donovan, and Heather Masse — resulted in some particularly fantastic photos. Heather and Aoife were just added to Saturday’s show from Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium so tune in for more unearthly vocals, Emmylou Harris and the Red Dirt Boys, Sam Bush, and Stuart Duncan, yowza!
