English Major Bands

Click through for a compilation of the #englishmajorbands puns we collected on Twitter last Friday:

The 13 Most Useless College Majors (As Determined By Science)

nprmusic:

cheatsheet:

newsweek:

1. Fine Arts

2. Drama and Theatre Arts

3. Film, Video, and Photographic Arts

4. Commercial Art and Graphic Design

5. Architecture

6. Philosophy and Religious Studies

7. English Literature and Language

8. Journalism

9. Anthropology and Archeology

10. Hospitality Management

11. Music

12. History

13. Political Science and Government

(Ed: Your primary tumblrs majored in two of these and now work in the field of a third.)

I’ll finish that thesis on Nietzsche someday…

Fact: The majority of the NPR Music team are former English majors, and, oddly enough, former grocery store baggers (your Tumblr host included).

Useless? USELESS? Would a useless major have its very own Professional Organization? We think not.

Hangover

leslie-etcetera:

If I were crowned emperor this morning,
every child who is playing Marco Polo
in the swimming pool of this motel,
shouting the name Marco Polo back and forth

Marco Polo

Marco Polo

would be required to read a biography
of Marco Polo-a long one with fine print-
as well as a history of China and of Venice,
the birthplace of the venerated explorer

Marco Polo

Marco Polo

after which each child would be quizzed
by me then executed by drowning
regardless how much they managed
to retain about the glorious life and times of

Marco Polo

Marco Polo
